This is a leadership role that will report to the VP, Assistant General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer. You will have 1-2 direct report(s) and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Director, Risk Management you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we're located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Your Responsibilities
- Act as the leader of our risk management function and serve as the primary company contact for risk related questions.
- Act as primary liaison with Choice's insurance broker and serve as lead in coordinating Choice's insurance renewals and in assisting business partners with insurance and risk management questions.
- Manage franchise insurance programs and assist with the development of new products that help franchisees manage risk.
- Manage relationship with Choice insurance certificate tracking and third-party claims administrator.
- Manage and tracks insurance claims losses and works with Human Resources department on workers' compensation claims.
- Manages Risk Specialist roles within department.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in business or risk management and 7+ years of experience in the risk management field
- Excellent attention to detail - we are looking for a candidate who focuses on the small picture and the big picture!
- Insurance license in Maryland required with the ability to add specific other states depending on programmatic needs
- Candidate must have ARM, CPCU, or RIMS-CRP certifications
- Excels in deadline-driven, high-volume environments
- Excellent project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
