We're looking for a Director of Specialty Pharmacy & Trade (SP&T) to lead our specialty pharmacy channel strategy, build impactful partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive patient access and experience.
What will you do?:
- Lead contract negotiations, performance monitoring, ROI analysis, and business reviews with specialty pharmacy partners.
- Identify barriers in the Specialty Pharmacy (SP) channel that affect patient access-and work quickly to resolve them.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships by sharing insights and maintaining regular, meaningful engagement with SP and internal teams.
- Monitor patient access service quality and ensure all contracted programs meet compliance standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert on contracted and prospective specialty pharmacies, including their operations, value, data capabilities, and care models.
- Partner with Reimbursement Liaisons, HUB, and Patient Services teams to ensure coordination across all access touchpoints.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to build and deliver SP tactics aligned with brand and Market Access strategies.
- Analyze complex data sets to uncover trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Present performance updates, metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Represent Glaukos at industry conferences and ensure all work follows compliance and privacy guidelines.
How will you get there?:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, including customer-facing Market Access experience.
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Specialty Pharmacy (within a SP or manufacturer).
- Proven experience negotiating SP contracts and understanding current market trends.
- Rare disease product launch experience.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. access landscape, including payers, reimbursement systems, and patient support services.
- Expertise in government and commercial reimbursement methodologies (especially Medicaid FFS and Managed Medicaid).
- Strong analytical skills with experience turning data into actionable insights (3+ years of working with data aggregation/analytics).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead projects across cross-functional teams.
- A customer-first, solution-oriented mindset with a strong grasp of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
