Role Summary and Purpose

Reportingdirectlytothe Vice President, Power Products Business Unit, youwillbe responsible forworkingcloselywithengineeringtohelp develop next-generation power relay products, utilizing our proprietaryIdealSwitch technology. Youwillalso be providing key technicalsupporttoleadcustomers and partners, andworkwiththe sales and marketing teamtodefine the power relay roadmap, promote and advocate for Menlo Micros products and grow the business.

This is a critical position for Menlo Micros power team. Youwillserve as both a hands-onapplications engineerworkingonvalidating our latest designs, and a technical expert and salessupportguru influencingatthe customer level. Youwillspendtimeonthe front lineswithclients collecting feedback and designing solutionstomeet their requirements. Youwillspendtimein the lab developing prototypes.Yourworkwillbehighlyvisible within Menlo Micro, andtoour investors.

Youwillworkin a fast-paced, innovative team environment,workingwithall functions of the Menlo Micro team from product development,tosales,totest and marketing.

Youwill:

  • Workwithmarketing, sales, and customers during the evaluation of Menlo Micros products in order to resolve any technical issues and drive design-in/design-win activities
  • Understand customers' specifications, application requirements and recommend therightsolutions and provide technical productsupport
  • Gather market, commercial and technical informationtojustify new productlineadditions
  • Build and maintain strong business relationshipswithcustomers to drive/increase sales and ensure an exceptional customer experience solving customer challenges
  • Workwithsalestoassist in developing the pipeline for future sales activity through regular interactionswithcustomers
  • Present technology conceptstocustomers/partners insupportof pre-sales activities
  • Make periodic customer visits to assess customer needs and provide keysupporttosales and other partners
  • Create presentationstodemonstrate innovative designs, document performance, and communicate architecture ideas and capabilities
  • Provide technicalsupporttointernaland external customers for Menlo Micros power relay products
  • Participate in technical seminars, trade shows, driving the thought leadership and technical merits of the companys power relay solutions
  • Architect, design, simulate, layout, test, and troubleshoot power relay-basedproduct demonstrations for a broad array of industrial controls markets
  • Perform simulations as necessarytosupportcustomer requests and recommend solutions that helpwithproduct selection and adoption
  • Workwithdesign engineerstocreate supporting documents such as datasheets and application notes
  • Workwithmarketing, engineering andcustomers to ensure that new products are market leaders that provide clear system-level differentiation.
Qualifications & Requirements:

This role requires a strong mix of technical skillstoworkondisruptive power management and controls solutions developedwithMenlo MicrosIdealSwitch technology, as well as power electronics market knowledge and applications use case understanding, in ordertoworkwithsales and customers to define and deploy disruptive products to the market. Theidealcandidatewillhave experiencewithpower electronics architecture and/or industrial controls applications.

Tobe a strong fit for the role youwillhave:

  • Abachelorsdegreein electrical engineering (BSEE)withminimum10yearsdemonstrated experience in Power Systems or Industrial Controls
  • Knowledge and technical design and/or test skills for power systems relatingtoindustrial markets upto1kV and 50A, both AC and DC solutions
  • Experiencewithpower relays, either designing power relays, designing systems, incorporating power relays, or supporting customers and applications that use power relays
  • Experienceworkingwithcustomers in one or more of the following markets: automotive, industrial automation,homeautomation, renewable energy, transmission and distribution
  • Strong communication skillstoinfluence senior engineering managersonissues that may have major financial and business implications
  • Good organization skillswiththe flexibilitytohandlemultipletasks and set prioritiestomeet goals in a fast-paced, fast-growing start-up environment
  • Experience in a global environment interfacingwithmany cultures and languages
  • The abilitytobuild effective relationships and influence outcomes
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Visio software, power system design software
  • Innovative strategic planning skills, abilitytoassess and managerisks, and translate corporate and business unit goals and objectives into realistic marketing and sales plans
  • Workauthorization that allows youtoworkin the United States
  • Abilitytotravelupto25 domestically and internationally
DesiredCharacteristics:
  • An EE or equivalent engineeringdegreewitha masters or higher engineeringdegreeand 10+yearsof relevant experience
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards; ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL,
  • Papers submitted and presented for industry groups would be aplus
  • Knowledge and technical design and/or test skills for power systems relatingtoMV and LV switchgear, motors, and overall power systems products, 5yearsminimumexperience
  • Knowledge and technical design and/or test skills for power systems relatingtoindustrial markets upto5kV and 200A.
