Pay: $200,000 - $271,000
The base salary range for this position in District of Columbia (US-DC) at the start of employment is expected to be between $200,000 and $271,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.

Your Role: As the Director of Tax, you will:
- Lead with Vision: Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of federal, state, local, and international tax returns ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Innovate Strategies: Develop and drive tax strategies that align with BWXT's long-term financial objectives, maximizing available tax benefits and incentives.
- Engage and Communicate: Simplify complex tax concepts for non-tax stakeholders, providing insightful advice to the executive team and the Board of Directors.
- Monitor and Adapt: Stay ahead of changes in tax legislation, proactively assessing their implications on our operations and strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in tax management within a corporate setting, with a solid track record of success.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, as well as international tax principles.
- Proven leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing your team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail, allowing you to navigate complex regulations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex tax issues effectively to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
Additional Preferred Requirements:
- Master's or J.D.
- CPA designation.
- M&A and international tax experience.
