POSITION TITLE: Director, Technical Instruction
REPORTS TO: Site Director

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Per Scholas seeks a strong manager and internal leader to serve as the Director, Technical Instruction, for the New York Campus. The Director leads the instructor support and develops the instructor pipeline by actively managing and working alongside aspiring new and developing instructors and classroom support staff: Instructional Assistants, Teaching Fellows, and Jr Instructors, to grow these individuals into technical instructors and ensure comprehensive support to all New York classrooms. The Director of Technical Instruction will also be the primary point of contact with Per Scholas' employer clients, represent instructional teams, and ensure training quality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Technical Training Staff and Performance Management
- Implement and update as needed the structured development plan for instructor support and developing instructor pipeline emerging instructors ( Instructional Assistants, Teaching Fellows, and Jr Instructors), directly managing the tech instruction team.
- Manage and update as needed the PS Onboarding course delivered via Canvas for all IAs, Teaching Fellows, Jr Instructors, and Lead Instructors.
- Manage performance and development of all IAs, TFs, JIs, and lead instructors, including day-to-day management, classroom observations, upskill planning, performance management, and moving developing instructors through the instructional pipeline
- Hire, onboard, and support all new IAs, TFs, JIs, and lead instructors as needed to deliver on all tech instruction deliverables
- Ensure the tech instruction team complies with all documentation related to the Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS).
- Partner with the Instructor Development and Quality Assurance(IDQA) team to ensure the technical Instruction team is in compliance with Per Scholas Technical Instruction policies and procedures, which includes follow-up on upskill assignments assigned to each instructor.
- Facilitate meetings with the technical instruction team to provide support for curricular implementation across all training tracks.
- Oversee Classroom management, which includes both software and hardware modernization, which is done at the end of each cohort.
- Conduct classroom observation and in consultation with others and site leadership to monitor progress and to provide feedback in real-time.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Per Scholas' employer clients, reporting on learner progress and concerns.
- Respond to concerns and issues communicated by the employer clients and develop and implement improvement plans to address concerns and issues.
- Work with instructional teams and employer clients to ensure training policies are implemented consistently.
- Respond to all concerns elevated to you related to the learner's academic concerns.
- Work with the National Training Quality team on all projects related to classroom management and equipment modernization
- Will travel to the different campuses located in all five boroughs.
- Occasionally, transport equipment to the different campuses located in all five boroughs
- Occasionally, teach in a classroom setting if an instructor is not available.
Curriculum and Delivery
- Monitors course piloting and implementation process to review/make recommendations for how to improve and edit curricula.
- Facilitates the ongoing evaluation and assessment of student and program learning outcomes.

Professional Qualifications
- Cybersecurity licensed via the CompTIA CySA+ exam
- IT Support licensed via the CompTIA A+ exam
- Network licensed via the CompTIA Network+ exam

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $90,000 - $95,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience
