Job Summary:
As the Director of Transplant Research at Tampa General Hospital, this role operates under the administrative supervision of the VP & Chief of Transplant and works in close partnership with the Office of Clinical Research. The primary responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities aimed at advancing the hospital's research initiatives in transplantation. This includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as academic institutions and community organizations, to forge research partnerships that align with the hospital's research agenda and strategic goals. The position comprises a pivotal role in prioritizing and aligning transplant research efforts with the broader organizational strategy and objectives. Serving as a liaison between basic science researchers and clinical practitioners, the Director facilitates knowledge exchange to enhance the impact of research on patient care. Additionally, the role involves preparing and disseminating research findings through publications in scientific journals and presentations at conferences. Actively seeking external research funding opportunities through grant applications and proposals is a key responsibility to secure resources for ongoing and future research projects. Identifying research areas with the potential to improve the quality of outcomes for transplant patients is integral to the role. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in transplantation research and contributing to the growth of knowledge in the field is paramount. The Director may also take a leadership role in the planning and development of a protocol review and monitoring committee. Throughout all duties and activities, the Director Transplant Research upholds the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital, ensuring that research endeavors align with the hospital's core principles and ethical standards.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate Degree in Immunology, Transplantation Biology, Molecular Biology
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in translational research related to transplantation, with a strong publication record
- Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Grant writing and research funding acquisition.
- Proficient understanding of relevant clinical research regulations, including ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and local ethical guidelines.
