Director Treasury

IPG Photonics develops, manufactures and sells high-performance fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers and diode lasers that are used for diverse applications, primarily in materials processing, medical and advanced applications. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Treasury to join our team and drive our treasury strategy forward.

What You Will Do as our Director of Treasury:

The Director of Treasury will focus their efforts on overseeing global cash balances, investments, banking platforms and our Treasury Management System, Kyriba. The Director will also assist with the global insurance program, analysis of our foreign currency exposures and developing a European cash pool.

This highly visible role reports to the V.P. Treasurer and supports the treasury and global finance teams with their banking, cash management, investment, insurance and currency risk management expertise. This role also interacts with senior business leaders, sales, operations and the global finance team to influence and drive efficiencies and positive changes to systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee external investment advisors ensuring adherence to our investment policy and management of the investment portfolio.
• Proactively identify and review currency exposures and take actions to reduce the risks, understand reported FX results and changes in exposures.
• Support all aspects of the Company's global insurance programs and assist with adjustments to optimize as the company's risks change.
• Assist with the implementation of a European cash management solution, which includes a Euro cash pool.
• Monitor and report on global cash balances, coordinate inter-company cash movements and currency conversions.
• Work closely with tax and accounting to efficiently move cash via dividends and inter-company loans.
• Responsible for treasury management system (Kyriba) and bank cash management system administration.
• Process owner responsible for internal controls for investments, treasury management system and bank accounts.
• Implement new bank technologies, products and services to improve efficiency/control and simplify treasury operations.
• Maintain and update bank account information, as necessary.
• Assist with enhancing global treasury policies and procedures and work closely with subsidiaries on compliance to standards and controls.

Successful Candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related discipline with 15 years of related professional experience in a complex multinational environment. MBA and/or CTP preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of bank account administration, global cash and cash pooling, along with investment and insurance risk management and cash forecasting.
• Skilled in treasury management and bank cash management systems, Kyriba experience is a plus.
• Experience with foreign currency cash flow and balance sheet hedging programs. Analyzing foreign currency exposures, creating policies and documentation for foreign currency hedging programs and for hedge accounting.
• Knowledge of portfolio risk management and experience in credit analysis.
• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to accurately interpret key financial information.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global environment and capable of gaining commitment and coordinated action on projects or initiatives.
• Builds effective working relationships across the company, at both the subsidiary and corporate level.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate issues from local, regional and corporate perspectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills. Can communicate treasury concepts and strategies to business leaders and finance employees.
• Ability to manage several tasks in fast paced environment and ability to work independently and proactively is critical for success.
