The Director of Urgent Care - Northern Region, provides day-to-day oversight and management of the Northern Region Urgent Care and Occupational Health clinic. The Director recruits, hires, and manages qualified, competent individuals, and ensures orientation and training to provide for competent, skilled practice operations. The Director provides leadership and direction in the development and management of VRE's Occupational Health program for community industry/business in the Valley Health service area. The Director actively monitors performance improvement indicators and quality outcomes and contributes recommendations for performance improvement. The Director creates and maintains a culture that promotes outstanding patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and quality.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of the Northern Region Urgent Care and Occupational Health clinic.

Responsible for management and oversight of clinic employees. Interviews and selects new employees; monitors and adjusts clinic FTEs pending patient volumes/census to meet productivity targets.

Develops, participates in, and implements key organizational processes: Budget, Talent Management (hiring/selection, 30/90 day reviews, performance mgmt., career development discussions, corrective action), Employee Engagement Action Planning, Employee & Customer Rounding, and Regular Staff Meetings.

Actively monitors performance improvement indicators and quality outcomes; contributes recommendations to the Performance Improvement Council regarding improvement opportunities, establishes teams, and facilitates problem resolution.

Completes and follows up on prioritized indicators, incident reports, complaints, accidents, performance standards, and reports results to Valley Health Director, PI Council and Medical Director.

Meets or exceeds goals for customer satisfaction, develops an action plan for improvement when goal is not met. Works to identify strategies and approaches to improve the customer experience.

Provides leadership and direction in the development and management of VRE's Occupational Health program for community industry/business in the Valley Health service area. Promotes and markets Occupational Health program by serving as a consultant to area businesses.

Provides research and administrative support for special projects and other duties required as part of management (i.e., new service lines, technology changes, accreditations and regulations).

Responsible for building maintenance and environmental conditions contributing to patient and employee safety and security.

Promotes a fair, safe and high-quality work environment by holding self and staff accountable for adhering to regulatory and Valley Health policies, procedures and standards.

Education
Bachelor's degree required

Experience
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in urgent care/occupational health, physician, or healthcare-related office/practice management required

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in urgent care/occupational health clinics or family practice/ambulatory care office preferred

Qualifications
Proven track record of team development and leadership skills required.

Ability to demonstrate strong understanding of practice operations, reimbursement and budget/finance required.

Leadership skills to enhance services to include recruitment/retention of staff; program development; continuing education and staff development required.

Ability to learn, teach, and apply LEAN methodology required.

Excellent communication skills required.

Ability to travel to Valley Health sites of service required.

Must be flexible, innovative and able to supervise and lead others.

Must exhibit confidence in self and staff, have high ethical standards and demonstrate VHS Values behavior in all interactions.

Ability to mentor and coach individuals to improve on and champion an environment where a positive patient experience is the primary goal of every aspect of care provision.
