Job Title: Director, Video Production
Department: Game Presentation

Major responsibilities/Activities:
- Direct day-to-day operations of the video production department (including its staff of content producers) for the Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena, reporting to and working with the Vice President of Game Presentation & Video Production.
- Manage and oversee video pre-production planning and on-site production activities for organization, along with internal and external clients.
- Serve as a leading member of the organization's cross-departmental content team.
- Lead video production department's collaborative efforts with the organization's broadcast, game presentation, social and digital media teams - helping provide content for each medium.
- Works closely with the Director of Digital & Social strategy to execute best-in-class content for Nashville Predators social and digital channels.
- Execute the creative direction and storytelling of the Nashville Predators brand across all platforms, recognizing the unique nuances between social and in-game/broadcast needs, formats and distribution.
- Ingest, assign and manage all projects for the video production department, ensuring all projects are completed on schedule and at a high standard.
- Anticipate and respond in a timely and efficient manner to needs and requests from internal and external clients.
- Conceive, generate and develop ideas, treatments and formats of the highest standards, consistent with strategy of the organization.
- Help develop and maintain a production standard for all Predators video content, working with the content producers to meet the standard in each produced content piece.
- Guiding and teaching all content producers best practices.
- Identify best practices for video operations, evolving daily operations as necessary.
- Manage responsibilities for regular production elements which include:
- Player/coach interviews with B-roll
- The ability to produce feature and video concepts, write scripts, shoot and edit features with graphics including:
- Features/Segments (player profiles, educational vignettes, historical retrospectives, etc.)
- Highlight Packages
- Act as a liaison with local radio, television and digital outlets, coordinating production elements for other team programming.
- Help lead and participate in departmental creative and production meetings.
- Assist in managing the budget for video production and game presentation.
- Coordinate & maintain all camera equipment & production gear.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Four (4) year bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or broadcast video production a must
- Previous experience in all aspects of video production (i.e., cuts only editing, non-linear editing and script writing).
- Minimum of 5-7 years producing, shooting and editing experience.
- Strong hockey knowledge.
- Previous experience in live sports and TV production is preferred.
- React and work well under pressure in a live event situation and under changing conditions as well as adhere to strict deadlines and multitask
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite highly desirable.
- Proven ability to influence and resolve differences in professional opinions, particularly where conflict may exist. Resilience and stamina sufficient to sustain performance when under pressure from tight schedules.
- Ability to handle confidential and commercially sensitive information.
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings and some holidays, as hockey schedule requires.
- Valid Tennessee driver's license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Club's insurance carrier and have reliable transportation.
- As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check including a criminal history check, driving history, personal and professional references.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Ability to travel with Team on occasion.
- Walking, bending, carrying, lifting and handling heavy video equipment weighing up to 50 pounds required.
- Ability to clearly communicate with clients and coworkers.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to drive to various locations to shoot features.
- Ability to stand in an upright position for continuous period of time.
- Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.

- Video cameras (includes Sony XDCAM, Sony FS7, Sony A7S (DSLR), GoPros)
- PC and Apple Macintosh
- Adobe Creative Cloud including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop
