Position Overview:
The Director of Warehouse and Delivery serves as an integral part of the management team reporting to and supporting the AVP of Warehouse and Delivery Operations. The professional in this position will exhibit strong leadership and team building skills to help propel the company to achieve its goals. This role will partner with the AVP of Warehouse and Delivery Operations to support and maximize effectiveness with warehouse functions including but not limited to, receiving, stocking, picking, loading, and delivering. This critical role will tie together all aspects of warehousing and delivery operations. The successful candidate will have proven abilities and credentials to lead, optimize and troubleshoot various systems, provide guidance to maintenance team and direct day-to-day operations.

Key Accountabilities:
- Direct supervision of warehouse and delivery managers and supervisors.
- Continually maintain established sales, customer service, and delivery expectations
- Establish and maintain staffing and equipment needs for operation
- Ensure inventory accuracy and controls
- Provide analysis and advice to leadership on all aspects of the operation including delivery, warehouse, fleet, inventory control, expense control, safety, labor relations, and policies and procedures.
- Hire, train, and develop supervisors and staff for the warehouse and delivery operations
- Responsible for compliance of all Operations Department personnel.
- Determine and monitor daily production schedule, establish priorities and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Help prepare realistic operating budgets and the development of both short and long-term plans.
- Utilize and leverage systems to optimize operational throughput.
- Oversee warehouse inventory of products, monitoring procedures, and controls for accuracy.
- Work closely with unionized labor force and its representatives to maintain a collaborative and cohesive environment.
- Monitor deliveries the most cost-efficient way including safety, product delivery excellence, DOT compliance, delivery manpower, and routing of the trucks.
- Achieve established service levels for the warehouse and delivery operations.
- Utilize best practices to meet customer expectations and successfully manage changes.
- Work closely with the unionized labor force and its representatives to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Ensure adherence to all Company policies and procedures as well as to collective bargaining agreements.

Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: To perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills.
- Effectively function in a challenging, fast paced, Union environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and asset protection procedures.
- Work closely with the safety manager to support all safety initiatives.
- Expertise in implementation and optimization of warehousing and delivery automation.
- A strong change agent who will utilize critical thinking to problem solve.
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Training:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics or industrial engineering preferred.
- 5 years' distribution center experience. Beer, wine and/or spirits industry preferred.
- Knowledge of delivery, warehouse, and fleet departments required.
- Experience in cost controls and budgeting.
- Knowledge of labor relations and labor contracts.
