Salary - $110,200.00 - $144,875.00 Per Annum (35 hrs. per week)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Programs and the Executive Director of Staff and Community Relations, the Family Service Director is responsible for managing, organizing, directing all the Family Service Teams. The Director is expected to exemplify strong leadership skills and strategic thinking skills for their own team and to the agency as a whole.
The Family Services Director is to assist, track and monitor services and initiatives funded by FVACFSS. The Director is also responsible for ensuring the successful integration of service delivery through the development of collaborative and integrated case management plans. The services provided include child safety, community outreach, voluntary supports, community development and family strengthening programs aimed at support and maintaining the safety of children and the integrity of the family. The Family Service Director is also responsible for the successful transition of children and youth in care to out of care permanency options.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work of Child and Youth Care, master's degree in clinical psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology or Social Worker, or equivalent.
- Experience in a supervisory/ management position. Preference may be given to candidate with five plus years child protection experience in a supervisory/management role; with substantial experience in program service delivery and evaluation.
- A degree in Human Services field or equivalent training and experience may be considered.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, strong organizational skills and consultative skills
- Extensive knowledge of applicable field; comprehensive knowledge of child welfare programs and related programs within other agencies and government.
- Ability to provide strong leadership, consultation, facilitation, accountability, negotiation, investigation and contract management.
- Strategic thinking at a team level and to the overall agency strategic plan.
- Travel is a job requirement.
- May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account.
- Must have valid class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence without restrictions, with adequate insurance, and driver's abstract.
- Criminal Records check required.
