General Description

The Green Bay Water Utility is on the lookout for a dynamic and skilledDistribution Manager to lead our Distribution Section. As the Distribution Manager, you will perform work of considerable difficulty in directing the operations of and planning for the Water Utility's Distribution Section.

Hiring Range: $110,700 - $122,400 annually
*These rates will go into effect 1/1/2025.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3 :00 p.m., plus additional hours as required.No residency requirement.

Examples of Duties

Supervisory/Managerial

Supervises the distribution system maintenance crew and vehicle and equipment maintenance technicians.

Provides managerial direction and professional development guidance for all direct reports.

Participates in Water Utility planning, policy, and training evaluation process.

Prepares and administers distribution section annual budget and long-range plans.

Responds to emergency call-ins as needed.

Distribution/Maintenance

Interacts with departments within Water Utility, as well as external agencies, businesses, and citizens.

Develops specifications for and procurement of Water Utility vehicles and Distribution section equipment.

Oversees maintenance of Water Utility vehicles and Distribution section equipment.

Oversees the distribution system repairs and maintenance programs.

Develops specifications for distribution system materials.

General

Serve as back-up for oversight of distribution system new construction.

Utilizes computer and related software to perform job duties.

Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Associate's degree in civil engineering technology.
• Five to seven years' progressively responsible experience in water distribution systems.
• Two years' experience in supervisory/management-related activities.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of water distribution systems. Good knowledge of public works projects.
• Considerable skill in supervisory techniques. Considerable skill in record keeping.
• Ability to perform a variety of construction and maintenance tasks. Ability to proficiently use a computer and the required software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to work the required hours of the position

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the following activities:

• Lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Frequent standing and sitting.
• Ability to focus on projects for a long period of time.
• Ability to reach, stoop and lift on a frequent basis.
