However, we have much more to accomplish for our customers, and we're looking for a culturally aligned District Sales Manager for the Montreal area to join our dynamic team.

This management-level position is responsible for the company's selling function in Montreal, including our sales strategies, salespeople/sales team, sales department structure, and sales process, in alignment with the overall company strategies and plans, working with the National Sales Manager and other Sr. Management positions.
The District Sales Manager will:
- achieving all sales results for the Ontario market;
- maintaining and refining a deep cultural understanding of the local nuances of the Ontario market, and the approach that the Company requires to succeed;
- providing the input required to regionalize Company efforts, including language, messaging, products, services and programs to best capture the market;
- profiling the Company's ideal client profiles and sizing and scoping the market opportunities to align selling and Company efforts to achieve maximum success with its distribution channels;
- providing the necessary input and strategic analysis to the National Sales Manager to inform the process of target setting;
- adhering to and managing the sales department budget;
- consulting on and executing the sales department's organizational structure to deliver the planned results;
- Hiring, developing, and retaining business development associates and other sales department roles;
- continuous improvement, refinement, and maintenance of the end-to-end sales process;
- suggesting, implementing, and/or developing "selling skills" training programs to optimize sales team abilities and performance, thereby making continuous skills practice and improvement an integral part of the sales department's DNA;
- working directly with the National Sales Manager and other senior team members to strategize and plan achievement of company goals and objectives for the province of Ontario;
- understanding the competitive landscape, identifying trends and bringing that information to the Company at large;
- being an ambassador of the company's core values, exemplifying and (especially) cultivating them with all individuals on the sales team and thereby flowing out to the client base;
- driving the successful implementation and adoption of sales/customer programs;
- connecting directly with and fostering relations with certain key clients;
- supporting the thinking behind the creation, deployment and adoption of tools and technology to automate sales processes and empower/equip the sales team;
- being an escalation point to resolve sales/customer issues or challenges internally or externally as they arise; and,
- measuring and internal reporting on the key metrics of sales team performance.
To be successful, you should have:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with successfully nurturing long-term client relationships
- Active listening skills
- Negotiation skills
- Tactical thinking skills and abilities
- Excellent time management
- Account Management Experience (3+ years)
- Business acumen, especially in the retail space
- Experience in a competitive product category/market
