Description:
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead communication as appropriate to all affected functions
Stake holder management with different Design & Manufacturing teams
Manage the overall program timing by creating a workplan to ensure that all key milestones are met
Perform Timing, Release and Material Control support functions including:
Develop and provide part data records in the OEM system applications (including Service release requirements)
Develop and provide Color Release part data records in FEDE BOM / FEDE / WERS for assemblies, sub-assemblies and components
Support prototype / production build events and perform material control functions for modular assemblies
Support all Change Management requirements via OEM Engineering Release System
Perform Engineering Release System Notice "Complete" processing including resolution of issues to achieve "Released" status (including service assemblies/parts and kits)
Develop and provide finish and material part data records in WERS (including fasteners and service parts/kits)
Participate actively in supplier technical and process capability / design and validation reviews
Lead periodic risk assessment of customer / Supplier readiness
Coordinate on site supplier evaluations at priority supplier sites per GPDS Supplier Engagement Process
Review open issues on a regular basis and action in a timely manner to support program objectives, including early warranty issues
Ensure open issue management follows the 8D philosophy
Perform Advanced Quality Product Planning (APQP) in accordance with customer specific requirements KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE
The Engineer must know CAD tools CATIA
Knowledge of OEM product development system
BoM Management & Part tracking
Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors in mechanical engineering or equivalent from a reputed Institution / University PREFERRED SKILLS
Presentation Skills, Project Management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write reports.
Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
Accurate and strong attention to detail.
Software - CATIA, Teamcenter and OEM release system applications with MS Office Proficiency EXPERIENCE BAND 7 to 9 years of experience in Automotive Industry
