JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A) Conduct dynamic FEA simulations and analyses to assess the structural behavior and response of mechanical systems under various dynamic loading conditions.
B) Responsible for inspecting the CAD data received from designers prior to the inception of meshing.
C) Independently mesh components using Altair tools and conduct the quality checks defined per internal design validation guidelines for meshing at Safran Seats USA.
D) Set up the model for static, quasi static, and impact simulation for 16G and 14G loading conditions using Altair tools and/or LS-Prepost.
E) Analyze the test data to implement proper engineering approach into the Finite Element (FE) model for further improvements.
F) Implement analytical approach and establish correlation with actual test data.
G) Perform FEA on detail parts and assemblies to verify compliance with structural and occupant injury criteria.
H) Ensure that FEA models and simulations comply with industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements.
I) Analyze and interpret FEA results to identify potential design flaws, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, including validation of models with test and establish correlation.
J) Perform necessary linear/non-linear static analysis and dynamic simulation.
K) Perform Pre and Post processing.
L) Develop and implement appropriate modeling techniques, boundary conditions, and material properties to accurately simulate real-world dynamic scenarios with no supervision.
M) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of design guidelines, testing protocols, and validation procedures.
N) Collaborate with other business units simulation engineering teams on Simulation improvement projects to increase model fidelity.
O) Generate comprehensive technical reports and presentations to communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and design modifications.
P) Validate model and establish correlation.
Q) Comply with Safran Seats USA procedures (QAP) and certification internal procedures.
R) Document all design validation work and maintain database.
S) Ensure quality of model, analysis, and on time completion.
T) Provide status and schedule updates to department head and other appropriate entities on a regular basis.
U) Stay updated on the latest advancements in dynamic FEA methodologies, tools, and technologies, and apply them to enhance analysis capabilities and efficiency.
V) Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidate skills & requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a directly related field of study, plus the following experience:
1. 6 years of Finite Element Analysis related experience using LS-Dyna or Radioss.
2. 6 years of experience using Altair HyperWorks Suite or ANSYS.
3. 6 years of combined experience in basic structural engineering and strength of materials.
4. 6 years of combined experience in finite element analysis and fatigue methods.
5. 6 years of experience with seat belt modeling.
6. 6 years of combined experience with the kinematic of hybrid II and III dummy model.
7. 6 years of experience with written and verbal communication.
8. 6 years of experience operating standard office equipment.
9. 6 years of experience generating technical reports.
10. 6 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams as well as other business units.
11. 6 years of experience presenting analysis findings to stakeholders.
12. 6 years of experience interpreting complex FEA results.
13. 6 years of experience providing practical recommendations.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
Work from home available. Must reside within commuting distance from the employer's Gainesville, TX office.
Requires less than 1 week of international and/or domestic travel per year.
