Project Overview:
The E&C Engineer II will act as a project lead or project manager for base capital projects, responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle from cradle to grave. Types of Projects: Working on projects at hydro and wind facilities, and potentially coal and natural gas plants in Colorado.
The position is full-time onsite, requiring the resource to travel to various plant locations. Travel Requirements: The resource will need to travel to outlying areas such as Pueblo, Brush, and Salida, CO, as some hydro facilities are more remote. Travel within a 200-mile radius of Denver, CO is expected, although on a more regular basis, travel will be within a less than 100-mile radius
The E&C Engineer II will be responsible for:
Scoping and Justification: Defining the project scope and justifying the need for the project. Cost Estimating: Estimating the costs associated with the project.
Planning: Developing detailed project plans.
Procurement of Goods and Services: Managing the procurement process for necessary goods and services.
Construction Oversight: Coordinating construction activities and providing oversight.
Commissioning and Turnover: Ensuring the project is properly commissioned and turned over to operations.
Project Closeout: Finalizing all project activities and closing out the project.
Coordinating Construction: Ensuring construction activities are properly coordinated.
Maintaining Project Documentation: Keeping accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Updating Drawings: Making necessary updates to project drawings.
Managing Project Budget and Forecasting: Involvement in accruals and forecasting to maintain the project budget.
Supporting Administrative Tasks: Handling administrative tasks related to the project.
Learning Company's Policies and Procedures: Understanding and adhering to Company's policies and procedures related to capital projects.
Collaborative Work: Working collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to coordinate between different groups.
Point of Contact: Acting as the point of contact for reliability engineers. The successful candidate should be collaborative, organized, a self-starter, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
They will need to learn about CapEx and plant systems to effectively manage the projects.
What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required?
Project Management Experience: Cradle to Grave PM Experience: 5-7 years of experience managing projects from initiation to completion, preferably in industrial facilities such as power generation, oil and gas, or petrochemical refining.
Experience in construction project management is also highly valued over software or manufacturing project management.
Educational Qualifications: Engineering Degree: A bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical, or industrial engineering is required.
Technical and Industry Knowledge: Industrial or Power Generation Projects: Experience with capital projects in industrial settings, including power generation, oil and gas, or refining projects.
Interpersonal and Organizational Skills: Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational skills to manage project documentation, timelines, and budgets.
Additional Requirements: Driver's License and Transportation: A valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required for travel to various plant locations.
