About this position

We are looking for a proactive consultant to support IDB Invest in surfacing opportunities to promote economic opportunities for everyone and businesses in IDB Invest investments.

What you'll do
Research international best practices in promoting economic opportunities for all in the private sector.
Analyze processes to identify opportunities for access to jobs, market and finance in private sector transactions.
Execute on-going and new advisory engagements with the highest quality standards.
Support the origination of advisory engagements in IDB Invest investments that add value to clients.
Support, on an ad-hoc basis, in the scoping and implementation of Advisory Services for economic opportunities.
Support the creation of an advisory offer for the economic empowerment and financial health for MSMES and individuals across priority sectors.
Support institutional demands related to fundraising, business reporting and IDB Invest's representatives in speaking events.
Create opportunities of collaboration between IDB and IDB Invest that can support engagement with the private sector.
Coordinate meetings with different stakeholders to generate buy-in and strengthen mainstreaming process and guidelines.
Pilot the processes and framework in a selected project or portfolio of projects.
Provide capacity building to staff and stakeholders on the process and framework, including training, guidance, and support.

What you'll need
Education: Master's degree in international development, sustainability, gender studies, economics, sociology, anthropology, international trade or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: between 5-9 years of experience developing and implementing economic opportunities for all strategies in the private sector. Familiarity with the business landscape and private sector is a plus.
Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Citizenship: No requirements
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant Full-Time, 6.5 months.

What we offer
