The EDI Developer is responsible for supporting and evolving the current EDI solution with internal systems, customers and suppliers. This role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, functional teams and IT teams.
The EDI Developer plays a critical role in ensuring the design, development, implementation, and support of EDI system aligns with business goals and operational requirements. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and effective communication skills to deliver value through innovative and reliable EDI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Technical Leadership:
- Solution Design: Provide input to the technical design and architecture of EDI solutions, ensuring alignment with trading partners, business processes, technical standards, and best practices.
- Development: Perform EDI development activities, including onboarding new customers and suppliers, enhancements to current solutions, and integration with SAP and legacy systems.
- Technical Guidance: Provide guidance and support to other EDI developers and technical teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and quality assurance.
- Configuration and Customization: Configure CLEO based on business requirements, ensuring smooth integration and functionality.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct system testing and integration testing to validate EDI solutions and ensure reliability and performance.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Incident Resolution: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for EDI systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Upgrades and Enhancements: Participate in CLEO system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, ensuring system stability and compliance with CLEO support and maintenance policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
- Business Alignment: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver EDI solutions that meet business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with functional teams (e.g., Sales, Supply Chain), and IT teams to integrate EDI solutions with existing systems and Trading Partners.
- Change Management: Manage change requests and ensure changes to EDI systems are properly documented, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Documentation and Training:
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, system configurations, and support procedures.
- Training: Provide training and knowledge transfer support teams on EDI functionalities, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Quality Standards: Ensure adherence to EDI and CLEO best practices, standards, and methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
- Compliance: Ensure EDI systems comply with regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and security standards applicable to the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in EDI roles
- Experience in Manufacturing industry preferred
- Experience integrating with SAP preferred
- Technical Skills:
- Cleo CIC experience required.
- Prior experience with some or all of the following documents preferred: 850, 810, 875, 880, 852, 856, 855, 832, 879.
- Experience with FTP/SFTP scripting and processing.
- Experience in creating AS2 communication partnerships.
- Experience with SQL coding and basic database concepts.
- Knowledge of EDI development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate with business users, functional teams, and IT support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
