About the Role:

The EHS & Operations Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that our operations in the oil and gas extraction and mining sectors adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs that promote a safe and compliant workplace. The specialist will conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Additionally, they will collaborate with various teams to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to minimize risks and enhance operational efficiency while safeguarding the health of employees and the environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in EHS management within the oil and gas or mining industries.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Certification in EHS management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and risk management.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and support to employees on EHS practices and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to integrate EHS considerations into daily activities and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of EHS incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.

The required skills for this role include a strong understanding of EHS regulations, which will be applied daily to ensure compliance and safety in operations.
