The EH&S Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures. This role includes conducting regular safety audits and ensuring operations comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governmental safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Create and manage EHS employee training programs, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Monitor changes to federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the EHS system remains current.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish a robust Hazardous Materials Management system.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), the Hazard Communication Program, and the Lockout/Tagout Program.
- Prepare and submit annual federal reports on workplace injuries.
- Maintain RVM evacuation maps and emergency contact lists.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and update the emergency response plan.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, recommend preventive measures, and provide retraining as necessary.
- Act as the point of contact for federal, state, and local audits and liaise with fire, police, OSHA, and other related agencies.
Quality
- Oversee the collection and maintenance of EHS training records.
- Manage the EHS-related aspects of RVM's document control process.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 clauses regarding infrastructure, environment, and operation processes. Co-accountable for identification, traceability, preservation, and documented information and records.
- Serve as the point person for departmental key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in EH&S management.
Other Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
