Position Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Overview:
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and driving a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the facility. This role serves as a trusted advisor and mentor, guiding continuous improvement in environmental health and safety practices while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example, consistently demonstrating and upholding company values.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor on all EHS matters across the facility.
  • Apply a combination of industry experience and innovative thinking to drive effective EHS initiatives.
  • Proactively identify potential workplace hazards; evaluate and implement corrective actions; manage risk-reduction projects and ensure their timely completion.
  • Analyze incident reports, safety metrics, and data trends to support the development of targeted improvement plans.
  • Coordinate responses to EHS-related incidents, including investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Oversee workers' compensation processes, including documentation, reporting, and cost tracking.
  • Develop and maintain databases related to EHS operations and performance.
  • Interpret and apply relevant regulatory guidelines, industry best practices, and academic research to facility operations.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable EHS regulations through leadership engagement, policy implementation, day-to-day activities, and internal audits.
  • Participate in EHS audits conducted by corporate teams, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records in accordance with company, customer, and legal requirements.
  • Deliver training sessions on EHS policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties or lead special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS leadership within a facility-based environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with USDA, BRC, FDA, and HACCP requirements preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CSHM, or CHMM are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and cloud-based EHS management systems preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for audits, conferences, or company-related activities.
