Job Summary:

The Environmental Health, and Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. An EHS Manager, also known as an Environmental Health and Safety Manager, is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs within an organization. They ensure compliance with relevant regulations, create a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, and reduce the risk of accidents or incidents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and ensure the organization's compliance.
• Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
• Provide EHS training and education to employees, ensuring they are aware of best practices and safety protocols.
• Identify potential hazards and risks within the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near misses, and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills to prepare the organization for unexpected incidents.
• Manage programs related to waste disposal, pollution prevention, sustainability, and resource conservation.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address unsafe conditions or practices.
• Collect and analyze EHS data to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
• Ensure that suppliers and contractors adhere to EHS standards and compliance requirements.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports, as required by government agencies, to demonstrate compliance.
• Manage the EHS department's budget, allocating resources effectively to support EHS initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, Master's degree desirable.
• 5 years of related experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

• Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).
• Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.
• Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
