Additional Information:
Travel:50-70% to various RESA locations
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 CAD
Work Location: Victoria, BC
Relocation: No Relocation
Benefits: Full benefits including medical, Employee Ownership Plan, RRSP, paid time off, Paid Holidays, and Milestone bonus.
Physical Demands: Occasionally lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. The position sits completing computer and phone work.

The EHS Specialist executes programs and inspections meant to promote compliance and employee health and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the new electronic safety management system for all locations
- JSA templates
- Site reports
- Near miss and incident reports
- Good catches
- Pre-use inspections
- Provide training to employees utilizing electronic safety management system
- Maintain templates, reports, and safety requirements through the electronic safety management system
- Purchases and distributes personal protection equipment or other related supplies.
- Coordinate and conduct inspections of job sites, facilities, vehicles, or equipment.
- Research federal, state, and local safety requirements to keep up to date with compliance requirements for every location
- Coordinates local safety committees to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Follow-up on and debrief on any critical event including leading the investigation of the event and implementation of corrective actions; distributing insights, best-practices and lessons learned to sites
- Assist management at all levels in meeting their health and safety obligations by providing the necessary support and tools, as well as measuring progress.
- Work closely with all locations to institute industry leading best practice safety solutions (e.g. benchmarking, "Human Performance" safety, etc.) that are consistent with company goals and objectives; partner with senior leadership across the organization to bring cohesiveness and synergy to the Company's approach to safety issues throughout business operations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement (auditing, investigations, operating system)
- Performs work under minimal supervision and executes safety compliance audits for manufacturing/shop environments and field work.
- Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent business partnering and interpersonal skills. Able to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experience.
- Flexible and innovative; the ideal candidate brings a positive, high-energy attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to tailor communication style with all levels in the organization.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum 5 years of experience or a mix of education and experience.
- May require appropriate certifications.
