Your Responsibilities
  • Handle multiple jobs/projects weekly.
  • Provide technical expertise in Electrical Distribution, Lighting, Communications, Security, and Life Safety Systems.
  • Supervise drafters and designers assigned to the project. This includes work assignments, scheduling, mentorship, and quality review.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors/fabricators.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate designs for reliable, cost-effective, and efficient operation.
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design engineering.
  • Prepare drawings and construction specifications.

Your Profile
  • 10 years of direct or industry-specific experience in Canada.
  • Registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
  • Flexible and adaptable problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Technical expertise in the design of Electrical Distribution, Lighting, Communications, Security, and Life Safety Systems for commercial, healthcare, educational, institutional, or residential construction is necessary.
  • Experience working on projects from early conceptual to detailed engineering and on to project start-up and operations support.
  • Familiarity with green building certifications such as
    • LEED,
    • Passive House would be an asset
  • An Interest in energy efficiency and sustainable development.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to tasks and strong initiative.
