Overall Responsibility:
As part of the Global Engineering organization, the Site Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer at the Hugoton facility is responsible for designing, maintaining and improving electrical, control, and instrumentation systems within the manufacturing site. This role ensures optimal production performance through robust system design, troubleshooting, and execution of key engineering projects, aligning with corporate sustainability and cybersecurity and automation initiatives.

Overall Responsibility:
As part of the Global Engineering organization, the Site Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer at the Hugoton facility is responsible for designing, maintaining and improving electrical, control, and instrumentation systems within the manufacturing site. This role ensures optimal production performance through robust system design, troubleshooting, and execution of key engineering projects, aligning with corporate sustainability and cybersecurity and automation initiatives.
Manufacturing Electrical Systems
- Maintain and optimize site electrical systems of manufacturing equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment electrical issues to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
- Design and implement electrical upgrades and modifications to meet operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and company standards.
Control Systems
- Design, implement and maintain PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs to ensure continuous operation.
- Optimize control strategies for enhanced process efficiency and product quality.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve automation systems and reduce manual intervention.
- Integrate new systems and technologies with existing control infrastructure
Instrumentation
- Maintain and improve instrumentation for accurate monitoring and control of production processes.
- Select, install, and commission new instruments to meet process requirements.
- Ensure all instrumentation is accurately documented and aligned with control systems.
Project Execution
- Lead or support EC&I-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including global and local process, maintenance, and automation engineers, to execute capital projects.
- Prepare technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure all EC&I activities adhere to corporate safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to OT cybersecurity efforts by applying best practices and aligning with corporate strategies.
- Implement ISA-95/99 standards to ensure a robust and secure system architecture.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance to site teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align EC&I activities with operational goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Execution: OTIF (On Time, In Full) delivery of projects.
- Safety: Demonstrate and enforce safety as the highest priority in all activities.
- Budget Adherence: Deliver projects within approved budgets while maximizing value.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure EC&I systems meet Flora Food Group's standards for performance, quality, and security.
- Sustainability Impact: Support initiatives that contribute to environmental goals.

- Budget and schedule compliance for EC&I projects.
- System uptime and reliability and cybersecurity resilience.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in EC&I engineering within a manufacturing or process industry.
- Strong knowledge in implementation and maintenance of PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution and motor control.
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control system integration.
- Experience with project management in multi-disciplinary initiatives.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ATEX, ISA).
Desirable:
- Experience with OT cybersecurity best practices.
- Knowledge of virtualization environments for industrial systems.
- Familiarity with data historians and OT-IT integration.
