Electrical Design Engineers at SDC are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for automated machinery. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering, CAD design, and system integration. What You'll Do:

Design and Documentation:
  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system diagrams using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Create and maintain documentation for electrical designs, including wiring diagrams, bill of materials (BOMs), and system specifications.

Component Selection and Procurement:
  • Identify and select electrical components based on project requirements, industry standards, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure the timely acquisition of materials.

System Development and Testing:
  • Design and implement power distribution, control circuits, and safety systems.
  • Conduct system simulations and analyses to validate designs before implementation.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization during system assembly and testing.

Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Provide technical support during machine assembly, commissioning, and on-site installations.
  • Participate in design reviews, contribute to process improvements, and mentor junior engineers as needed.


Requirements

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in automation or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, and motor control design.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations (NFPA 79, UL, IEC, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% for project support.
