We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our development team! We're re-building - and we're looking for people to join the Videri team. The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating designs, schematics and advising on PCB Layouts for our products. They will work closely with the Systems team and trusted suppliers to create the electronics that drive the Canvas Displays and develop innovative new features. This role reports to the SVP of Hardware. This exciting opportunity is a full-time hybrid position based out of the Waterloo office and will support remote work.

What you will do:
Involved in the product innovation process for compute, power and display solutions
Influence the electrical design, component selection and display technologies to improve power consumption, cost and weight
Realize product designs in cooperation with mechanical, software, operations, and marketing
Work with manufacturing partners to review schematics, layouts and product launch
Create circuit designs to produce prototypes and final designs
Create and update workplans, schedules and reports regularly.
Validate finished products for fit to function
Communicate transparently on progress and obstacles and propose solutions
Build strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

What you have:
BA or MA in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
3 - 10 years of professional experience
Proficiency in electrical CAD solutions for schematics and layouts
Ability to quickly move from concept to ideation or iterate multiple concepts
Strong system view of product with a focus on usability issues by end user.
Experience in guiding design through concept to full production manufacturing
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external resources to drive successful outcomes for innovation projects, platforms, and initiatives
Self-starter, creative problem solver and solution-focused thinker
Ability to think conceptually and drive design concepts
Travel (as needed) to solve issues at manufacturing and development sites
Excellent communication skills
Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel)
Must hold a valid passport and/or visa for travel to the USA
This opportunity requires a satisfactory review of prior project portfolio.

What you might also have:
Understanding of basic consumer electronics, digital display, digital arts and outdoor advertising industries and consumer trend knowledge
Low power, mobile phone Design experience
Television, Monitor or Camera design experience
Familiarity with image processing pipelines
Experience with a variety of compute platforms
