Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, and evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.
In this role, you will directly contribute to the design and development of next generation Lam Wet Deposition products. You will be part of the future direction of the semiconductor industry.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the design and development of next generation Lam Wet Deposition products. You will be part of the future direction of the semiconductor industry.
What You'll Do
- Operate as a project owner with a high level of autonomy leading multidisciplinary projects.
- Review complex problem statements and generate solutions. Identify and lead the effort of selecting the best solution.
- Manage projects to schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Design and develop highly complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
- Design systems compliant with Lam and industry standards (SEMI, NFPA-79, etc.)
- Lead research and development efforts for future products by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
- Develop functional specifications for highly complex electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
- Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment for characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
- Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
- Network with senior internal and external personnel.
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues.
- Work within Lam systems for product lifecycle management: part creation, detailed documentation, release and review processes.
- Escalation support as necessary.
- Supplier management of critical parts as necessary.
Who We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), signal and controls theory.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
- In depth system level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
- Working knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
- Expertise in application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
- Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g. ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, PCAD).
- Strong understanding of sensor systems and available technologies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes used to build electrical assemblies and designs.
- Strong communicator: oral, written, and presentation skills in English.
- Experience in troubleshooting with problem solving techniques like 5-why, 8D, fishbone drawings, etc.
- Proficient at troubleshooting with tools: DVM, Oscilloscope, network sniffers, protocol analyzers, etc.
- Proficient in power panel electrical circuit design with safety interlocks and 3-phase load analysis.
- Knowledge of applicable related standards like UL, CE, IEC, SEMI, NFPA-79.
- Experience in Product development and release.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate complex subject matter to non-subject matter experts.
- Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
- Direct experience in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
- Experience with FPGA development, including application code development experience.
- Experience in power distribution and/or control system design of industrial manufacturing tools.
- Ability to create and implement test fixtures to verify and validate designs.
- Mechanically inclined. Comfortable using hand tools and constructing items beyond the scope of electrical engineering projects.
- Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
- Highly proficient at troubleshooting systems with tools like network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
- Practical Experience with sensors, actuators, field buses (e.g. Ethernet, EtherCAT, Serial), measurement and controls technology.
- Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
- Experience in semiconductor industry or related (industrial, automotive, military).
