Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with microelectronics experience to join our rapidly growing Digital Health team. You will work closely with a dynamic team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to conceptualize and commercialize innovative medical devices to meaningfully impact the lives of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, development, simulation, and integration of custom microelectronic systems. This role requires a balance of creative thinking, analytical design, hands-on prototyping and testing, and systematic product development.

This role requires a balance of creative thinking, analytical design, hands-on prototyping and testing, and systematic product development.
Essential Functions:
- Design, simulate, build, and test highly integrated electrical systems for miniaturized electromechanical medical devices, ensuring adherence to industry standards and performance metrics (e.g. IEC 60601-1, etc.)
- Translate product requirements into design specifications and verification tests
- Design microelectronic circuits containing analog, digital, RF and/or mixed signal elements, including schematic capture, layout, modeling, and simulation of key circuit parameters (e.g. power, speed, timing, signal integrity, thermal, reliability, etc.)
- Interface with suppliers to support prototyping, inspection, supply chain, and design transfer
- Develop and implement test procedures, fixtures, and scripts
- Work independently as well as on small teams using agile methodologies
- Collaborate with a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate system hardware and firmware into market-ready medical device products
- Adhere to project timelines to deliver on-time designs, prototypes, test results, and documentation
- Contribute to the growth of Globus Medical's dominant intellectual property portfolio

Required Qualifications:
- BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent with 3+ years of experience
- Microelectronics hardware subject matter expertise in wafer-level or chip-scale design
- Wafer-level design: digital, RF and/or mixed signal circuit design (schematic, layout), modeling & simulation of key circuit parameters (e.g. power, speed, timing, signal integrity, thermal, reliability, etc.)
- Chip-scale design: digital, RF and/or mixed signal device packaging design/layout (2D-3D, 3D-IC, chiplet), substrate/interposer design (HDI, HDBU, EMIB), chip attach (epoxy, solder), chip interconnect (chiplet, flip-chip, wire/ribbon bonding), modeling & simulation (e.g. power, speed, timing, signal integrity, thermal, structural, reliability)
- Experience with DSP fundamentals and FPGA implementation
- Experience with ASIC development
- Experience with EDA tools and flows (Synopsys, Cadence, etc.)
- Experience with hardware programming: FPGA (Verilog, VHDL), firmware (C, Rust)
- Ability to use Altium or equivalent for schematic capture
- Proficient with electrical test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Experience with circuit modelling software (e.g. ADS, LTspice, Pspice)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in small teams
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Experience with microelectronics packaging fabrication and manufacturing preferred
- Experience with wireless power transfer (e.g. inductive coupling, power harvesting) preferred
- Experience designing for medical device or active implant applications is a plus
- Experience with software programming (e.g. Linux command line/scripting, Python) is a plus
- Experience designing and testing according to industry safety/EMC standards (e.g. IEC 60601-1, IEC 62368-1, or equivalent)
