Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba (On-Site)
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include but not are limited to the following:
- Prepare the system concept report, complete load calculations, schematics and equipment selection.
- Electrical design of building systems, including lighting, power distribution, life safety, standby power, fire alarm, electronic safety and security and communications systems with minimal direction.
- Create construction documentation for healthcare, hospitality, commercial and institutional projects, in collaboration with production staff and junior designers.
- Managing all aspects of electrical projects for our clients.
- Coordinating with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
- Oversight of quality assurance and timely delivery of finished products to clients.
- Reviewing architectural, interior designs and structural drawings.
- Working with contractors and responding to technical inquiries.
- Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project.
- Helping to establish, maintain and promote client relationships.
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
- 5+ years of engineering and/or design co-ordination experience in the consulting industry.
- Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Codes and National Codes of Canada.
- Proficiency in developing construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD. Use and understanding of the software is required.
- Familiar with bid and tendering process.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
- Experience working with customers and client base.
- Experience working independent and in team based environment.
- Experience in project management and leadership of small teams
- Able to visualize and maneuver in a virtually constructed environment.
- Highly effectively communication skills both verbally and in writing in order to relay complex ideas to other technical professionals and non-technical people.
- Effective time management skills
