Commercial Electrical Estimator - Austin, TX & Houston, TX

*Role is full-time, in office.

Our Estimators are our leaders on projects and collaborates with clients and suppliers to prepare and complete bid/submittals for electrical construction projects. What You Will Be Doing
- Develop accurate & timely electrical construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals
- Analyze & interpret detailed drawings and specifications
- Determine & price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications
- Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative
- Lead the functioning of the Estimating Department; the education and development of junior personnel; on-going development and maintenance of computerized estimating programs and databases; congenial relations with clients and vendors.
- Work on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects
- Help create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work
- Review estimates created by others for accuracy and completeness
- Perform job handoffs from estimating to operations through clearly demonstrating detailed scopes of work, specifications and job specific conditions
What You Need for this Position
- 2+ years electrical estimating experience
- Experience with variety of commercial projects
- Experience in the field (preferred)
- Experience with McCormick estimating software (required)
- Effective organization & communication skills
