Electrical Field Service Technician

Job Description

A leading manufacturer of heavy industrial Shot Blast Machines is seeking an experienced Field Service Electrical Technician/Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and commission industrial control panels and electrical systems at customer sites. This hands-on, travel-heavy role requires expertise in control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and commission industrial control panels for heavy equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs & HMIs (Siemens TIA Portal a plus).
• Work on AC drives, EtherNet networks, and AutoCAD drawing modifications.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support for field installations.
• Travel 50%+ (mostly domestic, some international) for equipment commissioning.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in industrial control panel equipment design & commissioning.
• 3+ years of Allen Bradley PLC & HMI programming (5+ years preferred).
• Experience with EtherNet networks and AC drives.
• AutoCAD proficiency for drawing modifications.
• UL508 & NFPA 79 knowledge preferred.
• BSEE or BSEET preferred, but hands-on experience is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field.

Job Details:

• Location: Alpharetta, GA (must be within a 45-minute commute).
• Pay: $80K+ (non-degreed) / $95K+ (degreed) - flexible for the right candidate.
• Schedule: M-F, 8 AM - 5 PM.
• Travel: 50%+ (typically week-long trips, occasional two-week trips).
• Work Environment: On-site only, no remote work.
• Background Check: Required (case-by-case basis for DUIs).
• Drug Screen: Required.
