Position Overview:
The City of Springfield is seeking to fill the Electrical Inspector II position. The Inspector performs inspections and reviews plans of new and existing buildings to determine compliance with the Building and/or Housing Code and approved construction plans. This position all provides technical assistance to customers in person and on the phone to answer electrical-related questions.

Training & Experience:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include:
Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in relevant area of assignment, and;
A minimum of 2 years of experience performing electrical inspections or reviewing electrical plans
Licenses and Certifications Required at Hire:
Valid Oregon Driver's License
Oregon Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) or ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector (E2)
Oregon Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) or ICC Residential Electrical Inspector (E1)
*As an alternate path to holding the E1 and E2 certifications at time of hire, possess an Oregon General Supervising Electrician (S) with demonstrated experience in commercial, industrial and residential installations with the ability to obtain Oregon Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) and Oregon Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) certifications within 6 months of hire.
Licenses and Certifications Required Within 90 Days of Appointment:
Oregon Inspectors Certification (OIC) or ability to obtain within 90 days
Licenses and Certifications Required Within One (1) Year of Appointment:
Multi-certification from the State of Oregon in Residential Specialty or Certification from the State of Oregon or International Code Council (ICC) as a Structural Inspector or ability to obtain within 1 year
Selection and Interview Process:
Top candidates will be invited to interview, and candidates will be emailed directly with additional information.
