Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and 3-7 years ofrelated experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also be adept with hand tools, power tools, and technical and measuring equipment.
Computer Skills
Proficient in personal computer, computer operating systems, word processing, and spreadsheet programs. Proficient with embedded computer systems, serial communications, and file transfer functions. Able to use circuit layout and analysis (CAD) software, code compilers, and software IDE platforms.
Language Skills
Proficient in procedural and object-oriented software coding such as C. Ability to write professional correspondence and effectively communicate information in one-on-one and group situations to customers and coworkers
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform advanced level arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and calculus. Ability to apply and perform these operations to facilitate engineered product realization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to assimilate information from diverse sources to form a complete situational picture and develop a plan of action to accomplish the task. Must be able to deal with problems involving several variables in dynamic situations.
Physical Demands
- Lead circuit board design and development for new and innovative products
- Perform troubleshooting and collaborate with production on prototype and early-stage product builds
- Create, maintain, and improve engineering documentation for detailed drawings of electrical equipment and sub-assemblies, including schematics, wire diagrams, and circuit boards
- Design, simulate, and test complex analog, digital and mixed-signal systems
- Perform electronic design activity, including circuit boards, interface cabling, system integration, firmware integration, and power system architecture
- Create and maintain bills of materials for products produced. Research and recommend purchase of parts and materials used in prototyping and production
- Create and maintain documentation related to manufacturing, including process specifications, test procedures, operation manuals, repair instructions, technical literature, and graphic and pictorial data
- Write structured code to meet software/firmware requirements
- Document, maintain, and test software configurations. Interface with vendors to develop and enhance software for use in the product offerings
- Compile and analyze test data to determine effect of product design on various factors such as temperature, pressure, environmental factors, and energy consumption. Confer with mechanical engineering and technical personnel to troubleshoot design issues such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, and data interpretation
- Use project management skills to interface with outside activities, professional groups, and customers to coordinate and facilitate special projects either under contract or as part of an industry area of interest that is aligned with the company mission
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, engineering drawings, and possess moderate proficiency with AutoCAD
- Ability to design, maintain, and improve PCB design using Altium or similar software
- Experience with embedded systems design and common digital communication interfaces (USB, SPI, I2C)
- Experience implementing firmware and software including C, Python, and Linux OS
- Must be familiar with PID controllers, microprocessors, and microcontrollers
- Hands-on electronics prototyping experience, including soldering and rework of fine-pitch SMT components
- Extensive experience testing and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Ability to prepare technical documentation, test plans, work instructions, and manuals
- Proficient in instrumentation for testing hardware, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, hi-pot testers, multimeter, et cetera
- Understanding of how to design for manufacturability, reliability, and low cost
- Due to legal requirements, must be a United States citizen
Preferred Experience
- Ability to design wire cables by sizing and selecting wires, connectors, pins and sockets for functionality and safety requirements
- Embedded Linux experience
- Experience with UL standards, specifically UL 508, 61010-1, 603335-1
- CE compliance and testing
- Project Management and planning
- Design and Testing of prototypes
