Email Marketing Manager
Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, the Email Marketing Managerwill lead our journey towards mass personalization through email, SMS and customer rewards platforms. This role is responsible for building, executing and evaluating the overarching D2C marketing strategy Canada's premier Sports & Style retailer.
The candidate will collaborate with various cross-functional divisions at Sporting Life including marketing, ecommerce, operations and merchandising groups. This position is responsible for executing strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and is dedicated to driving KPIs including email & SMS acquisition, engagement and retention through the process of strategic planning, campaign execution and analytics.
Crucial to this role is a background in D2C marketing, with expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Email Marketing Manager

Description of Job Responsibilities:
- Lead overarching D2C strategy to drive user acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention
- Grow our email and SMS audience by building and executing an ambitious user acquisition strategy
- Develop and execute a personalized customer communication strategy based on consumer behaviour
- Identify unique customer segments and create personalization strategies to increase user engagement
- Manage the overall email & SMS campaign calendar, including template designs, content, and calls-to-action
- Measure results and optimize workflows to improve user engagement, conversion and retention
- Minimize customer churn and unsubscribes
- Lead the creative direction of the email marketing strategy and develop templates based on best-in-class design
- Build and automate templates, deploy dynamic content, and support the content creation workflow
- Maintain daily contact with internal stakeholders for weekly campaigns
- Provide education and post campaign analysis for all campaigns
Essential Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years' experience working in a similar position with email marketing
- Expertise working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
- Background in eCommerce and retail is ideal
- Experience with web analytics, knowledge of online campaign management and measurement
- Skilled at HTML / CSS and responsive web and email design.
- Proficiency in email, web analytics and web metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization
- Excellent writer and communicator (in both the written and verbal form)
- Project management background, a strategic lens, and the ability to develop, advise and execute the completion of creative email and SMS campaigns.
