Certifications: Current CPR certification; ACLS, PALS, or TNCC certifications as per policy

Job Description:
- Assess, plan, organize, and evaluate all aspects of patient care for assigned patients.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards, which includes planning, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting care plans and discharge planning based on expected outcomes.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients as required.
- Complete ongoing patient assessments and documentation according to policy.
- Develop patient care plans, including problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
- Report symptoms and significant changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the care team on discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge.
- Apply age-specific standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines in patient care for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare team members to educate patients and families on disease processes, wellness promotion, and discharge planning.
- Demonstrate an awareness of relevant nursing research.
- Evaluate practices to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for research.
- Reflect the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital in daily activities and workplace interactions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds during patient care.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and/or crouch; stand and walk for five (5) or more hours per day.
- Ability to reach, grasp, and handle five (5) or more hours per day.
- Visual acuity to distinguish skin tone variations and monitor medical equipment.
- Audio acuity to discern body and equipment sounds.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures:
- Exposure to environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, sharps, blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and medical waste.
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts.
- Use of protective clothing/equipment as necessary.
