Summary
This position is responsible for supervising and scheduling all aspects of Emissions field operations within a (possible multi state) Area, including safety and regulatory compliance, staffing, employee development, and assisting in ensuring that all Area goals are achieved/exceeded. Other duties include but are not limited to enforcing company standards and procedures, ensuring overall operational efficiencies, customer service, oversight of the quality of service provided, and assisting with process field service projects including troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairing systems, emissions compliance and testing associated with Gas Compression systems.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and adverse outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Work directly with the Emissions Manager in coordinating the activities of all Emissions Technicians assigned to the area, including supervising, assisting, and monitoring their work / job assignments.
- Ensure Technician assignments are efficiently organized in order to minimize driving and response time.
- Assist with training Technicians in technical/service competencies as well as the processing of all required documentation and oversee major repair decisions.
- Monitor unplanned service call frequency, vehicle maintenance expenses, and review all field service reports.
- Ensure that the appropriate environmental/safety accommodations and precautions are implemented and followed.
- Communicate regularly with the Branch Manager on the status of Area personnel, staffing levels, productivity, and any developments regarding issues or concerns.
- Respond to customer requests and address customer needs proactively while representing the company in a professional manner at all times; develop and maintain internal as well as external customer relationships.
- Encourage, develop, and ensure a safe work environment.
- Other duties assigned by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly, as well as, indirectly manages employees in accordance with the EFX policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Scope may include supervision of direct reports as well as indirect supervision of their direct reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and advanced vocational/technical training. (10+ years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.)
- Minimum 15 years of applicable experience required.
- Must have proof of certification from CAT, Waukesha, or equivalent for the following:
- CAT Gas I
- CAT Gas II
- CAT Electrical
- Ariel Basic
- CAT 3500 ADEM III
- CAT 3500 ULB
- Waukesha VHP
- CAT 3600 ADEM III and IV
- CAT Failure Analysis
- Must maintain current OEM model-specific training.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to learn in both hands-on and classroom settings.
- Proficient with computers and programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Capable of completing advanced maintenance, repairs, and installations unassisted.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills required to perform complex service, installation, and maintenance tasks.
- Extensive electrical/control panel knowledge, including the ability to read schematics and perform troubleshooting, installation, and diagnostics on major OEM panels (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley).
- Proficient in installing and tuning control systems related to compressor packages and off-skid equipment.
- Must possess own tools (excluding specialty or OEM-specific diagnostic tools).
- Must be able to use CAT ET or equivalent for other OEM's
- Capable of interpreting compressor performance and calculating engine horsepower.
- Proficient in the use of CAT Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP).
- Skilled in tuning engines for performance and emissions compliance.
- Able to operate emissions testing equipment (Testo, ECOM).
- Must be able to independently lead and perform overhauls, new unit installations, startups, and diagnostics on major OEM equipment.
- Capable of performing preventative and corrective field mechanical services on gas compression and/or production equipment at customer sites.
- Able to teach and demonstrate proper purging and loading procedures.
- Must identify and stop unsafe activities related to personnel or environmental safety.
- Advanced understanding of gas and oil properties, conditions, and theoretical principles.
- Advanced understanding of compressor and production equipment types, models, and operating theories.
- Proficient in installation, assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair procedures related to gas compressors and production equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of tools used for installation, maintenance, and operation of gas compressors and production equipment (dial indicators, feeler gauges, digital volt/ohm meters, emissions test equipment).
- Able to teach interpretation of P&IDs, blueprints, installation instructions, and technical manuals.

- Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and performing on-site leadership tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to write clear correspondence and communicate effectively with management and peers.
- Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the construction and repair of advanced engines, compressors, and electrical systems.
- Ability to understand and follow written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
