Duties & Responsibilities
Collaboration & Intervention
- Serve as a liaison between employees and management, providing guidance on workplace issues through coaching, counseling, and discipline.
- Assist in resolving concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
- Develop strategies to improve employee satisfaction and reduce turnover.
- Organize recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while supporting HR policy development and implementation.
- Manage unemployment compensation claims and oversee equal opportunity initiatives.
- Deliver training on employee relations, talent retention, and performance management.
- Collaborate with the Center for Institutional Learning to enhance training programs.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field with 7 years of progressive HR experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role, or a Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and employee relations strategies.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR-related software.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- This function/position has been designated as essential. This means that when the College is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the College
