Responsibilities
About the Role
Key responsibilities:
Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and agency responses
Drafting memos, letters, and case status updates
Drafting and responding to discovery
Taking and defending depositions
Representing clients in court proceedings, mediation, and administrative proceedings
Assisting in conducting workplace investigations
Conducting legal research
Delegating to and supervising paralegals, law clerks, and legal assistants
Assisting with Firm business development, marketing efforts, and administrative activities, as requested
Inputting billable time on a daily basis
Qualifications
About You
The successful candidate for this role is someone who:
Is currently licensed to practice law in Georgia
Has at least one year of civil litigation experience at a law firm -- employment law and federal court experience are preferred, but not required
Is attracted to doing high-caliber work for business clients, including in-house counsel
Enjoys opportunities to network with other colleagues and community members to build the reputation of the Firm and the Team in the community
Has outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to gain trust and confidence with team members at many different levels
Has the ability to prioritize multiple, often competing deliverables while producing quality work products and meeting deadlines
Welcomes the opportunity to participate in the Firm's business development activities
Would thrive working in a flexible, autonomous, and accountable manner in a small firm environment
Appreciates the value of a small firm environment with more hands-on learning opportunities
