JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Clinical Practices Division. Develops and implements short- and long-range strategies, objectives, and priorities.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Coordinates and oversees hiring processes, credentialing and educations of medical providers, and continuous quality improvement activities
- Maintains accurate records of education provided and skills performed
- Oversees the budget and operations of the AHA training center to ensure compliance with AHA national standards
- Develops the yearly budget for Clinical Practices
- Functions as a clinical expert and resource to Williamson County EMS
- Coordinates with the Medical Director to ensure the department practices evidence-based medicine
- Manages the disciplinary processes of employees and coordinates any action with the EMS Director and Human Resources Department
- Reviews and enforces Texas Department of State Health Services regulatory requirements
- Coordinates with the Community Captain to identify education needs for the Community Paramedics
- Coordinates with Clinical Commander, Captains, and Clinical Lieutenants for new employee academy development
- Reviews the Scope of Care document and updates, as needed
- Creates and administers the yearly Scope of Care compliance and any needed re-education
- Oversees Clinical promotion process
- Oversees the Peer Review Process and Performance Improvement Plans for field staff
- Conducts random patient care report review for quality assurance and improvement
- Participates on the CATRAC Education Committee and Mission Lifeline
- Participates in monthly meetings with hospitals and other stakeholders
- Assists the Medical Director and Director of EMS in development of a training curriculum for the WCEMS Community Paramedicine program
- Serves as a member of the Department Compliance Committee to develop, implement, review and evaluate the Departments Compliance Program
- Serves on city, county, and state committees, as required
- Serves as a member of the Department Executive Team to plan, develop, recommend, resolve and implement executive level policies and procedures
- Utilizes discipline as necessary including friendly reminder, documented discussion, written counsel, notice of unsatisfactory performance
- Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas
