Key Responsibilities
- Analyze retrofit opportunities in multifamily, commercial, and industrial buildings to develop energy and decarbonization strategies with sound technical and economic support.
- Evaluate and model geothermal, solar PV, and battery storage integration for new and existing buildings.
- Conduct utility bill and rate structure analysis to inform energy strategy recommendations.
- Perform technical and financial due diligence on prospective projects, including scheduling and funding feasibility.
- Assess and recommend upgrades for building envelope, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and renewable energy systems.
- Prepare energy and cost savings projections and assist in defining project installation budgets.
- Support onsite technical oversight during construction phases; coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Use data visualization tools to communicate energy performance and support decision-making.
- Research and monitor market conditions, utility incentives, and policy trends relevant to sustainable energy projects.
- Coordinate and communicate with external and internal project partners.
- Deliver clear, technically sound presentations and reports to stakeholders.
- Independently execute assigned work with high attention to detail and quality.
- Contribute to general office tasks and collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in building engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and energy data analysis techniques.
- Experience with energy modeling and building systems operation.
- Understanding of basic economic evaluation methods (e.g., payback, NPV, ROI).
- Strong critical thinking, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Interest in pursuing professional licensure (e.g., PE, LEED, CEM).
- Willingness to travel to project sites in the U.S.
Preferred:
- Experience in building controls, energy auditing, or building operations.
- Background in industrial or warehouse design and construction.
- Familiarity with sustainability concepts, ESG reporting, and green building standards.
