Energy Engineer: Analyze energy, HVAC systems, equipment, controls & other building system data and analytics in order to make recommendations to help clients achieve goals while driving pull through for Boland. Author building performance reports, develop Energy Conservation Measures (ECM's), and work together with account teams to present reports to clients to make their buildings better.
Workplace Type: Hybrid: Flex for your day, 3 days per week in person
Office Location: Gaithersburg, MD
Essential Duties:
- Prepare building performance reports by using HVAC and energy analytics platforms and other data sources, developing insights accordingly, and making recommendations. Detail findings and recommended actions using charts, graphs, and detailed written explanations. Reports must be completed on schedule, on time.
- Perform data collection and analysis on multiple platforms (BAS analytics, Fault Detection Diagnostics, energy analytics, dashboards) for the purpose of improving building performance.
- Identify and develop Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) associated with recommendations, and calculate associated payback.
- Conduct consultations with clients and account teams to review reports and provide recommendations on actions to be taken to improve building performance.
- Participate in account team meetings to align reporting with sales and field team efforts.
- Provide ongoing support to connected sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination experience and education.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- 3 years HVAC technical experience and/or controls experience is a plus.
- CEM is a plus.
- Effective communication, relationship building, strong technical writing and data analysis skills.
- Ability to do cyclical, structured work and meet deadlines accordingly.
- Quick learner, self-sufficient, self-starter, analytical, process oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to conduct job site visits in mechanical rooms and building rooftops
