TITLE: Engine Performance & Simulation Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Engineering

REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer

CLASSIFICATION: Salaried

JOB SUMMARY:

Acts as an analytic resource to the product development group and will work with designers, engineers, technicians,

purchasing, other personnel, and suppliers to meet project goals. Perform tasks as required to support the

completion of projects on time and under budget by following the Product Development Process. Primary

responsibilities will include engine simulation for performance optimization and cam design using software such as

GT Power.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Present and maintain positive morale employees
Creates and maintains analytic procedures and processes
Performs sophisticated analysis not usually associated with general engineering positions
Maintains expert competency in related fields and software
Records, organizes and presents their analysis in a clear and concise format
Assists project engineers with the analysis of test reports and data to determine if design meets function and

performance specifications
Provide input to diagnosis of field problems and warranty issues
Analyze data and prepare management reports
Use engine simulation software to support engine component design. Specifically new camshaft designs for

powersports engines
Performs or directs tests to validate engine simulation results
Assists in project planning including Work Breakdown Structure, NPV, and Statement of Requirements,

budgets, and maintenance of all project documents
Assist with the preparation of departmental budgets

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experienced working as an engineering professional in power sports or a related industry
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Well organized and self-directed
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication
Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications such as FEA, engine simulations or other
Experience with camshaft design, validation and manufacturing processes preferred
Experience with 1D engine simulation and kinematic analysis using software such as GT Power, Ricardo Wave

or Lotus Engine Simulation
Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering degree. MS preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience
