Engineer I, Grad Rotation Program

Propel your career with Seaspan Shipyards! We are currently recruiting 8 engineering graduates to join our Graduate Rotation Program commencing in September 2025. In this two-year program you will gain meaningful work experience, mentorship, and targeted training across a range of business areas within the company, working in a diverse and collaborative environment.

The Seaspan Graduate Rotation Program is open to recent graduates who can demonstrate the following:
  • Recently completed (within 2 years) an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or other relevant engineering subject. Graduation date must be by August 31, 2025.
  • Proven track record of both strong academic and extracurricular achievements.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience with computer aided drawing/modelling tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, listening and presentation.
  • Strong research, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative, ownership and drive tasks to completion.
  • Registration as an Engineer-In-Training with EGBC, or ability to attain.

How it works

Participants will rotate through the following discipline areas within our Vancouver Shipyard operations:
  • Engineering
  • Program Management
  • Planning and Estimating
  • Production Support

In each discipline area, you will spend 3 - 6 months training and developing new skills, while contributing to state-of-the-art shipbuilding projects. At the end of the program, you will be offered a permanent position based on availability, suitability, and performance. You will be able to confidently take this next step knowing that you have a solid foundation of demonstrable skills and experience to build from, complimented by an exceptional understanding of how Seaspan builds ships.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based mainly at our North Vancouver office with potential short-term relocation across our Canada-wide offices.

The estimated salary for this position is $77,500 - $93,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
