The Test Engineer collaborates with fellow test team members to oversee and perform comprehensive drive unit system testing within Lucid's product development framework. Responsibilities encompass improving testing facility capabilities, collaborating with stakeholders on methodology refinement, and streamlining testbed operations for optimal efficiency. Additionally, tasks involve creating automated post-processing procedures, ensuring data integrity, and providing feedback to stakeholders requesting tests.
The Role:
Perform and lead component and system level development tests at the drive unit level in a lab environment.
Develop electric powertrain testing methodologies encompassing instrumentation setup, data acquisition needs, accessory equipment requirements, and measures to ensure data quality and repeatability.
Implement effective testing methodologies, including statistical Design of Experiments (DoEs) and best practices, to optimize throughput and ensure high data quality.
Resolve testing challenges encountered with custom-built test beds and devices undergoing testing.
Support the implementation of the test profiles into automated test scripts.
Analyze test data, compile test reports, and approve them for release.
Contribute to departmental continuous improvement efforts, particularly in alignment with drive unit design and system efficiency goals.
Assist in developing and executing Lucid Technical Specifications, offering technical guidance on test setup configurations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Computer or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in overseeing powertrain product development engineering projects within a test laboratory environment, specifically focusing on performance and efficiency testing.
Desirable background in testing and developing powertrain or vehicle-level products.
Demonstrated proficiency in reducing, analyzing, and reporting data.
Experience with automotive regulatory, environmental, reliability, and safety requirements is a plus. SAE, IEC, ISO, Chinese standards.
Experience in automotive control software such as Vector, LabVIEW
Desired proficiency in configuring and parameterizing AVL PUMA and REPS test systems, with expertise in implementing automated test routines.
Ability to adapt to changing test requirements and development standards.
Capable of working independently while also leading and mentoring junior engineers
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$102,000-$139,800 USD
