About the Team
As part of the Electronic Solutions Team at Rheinmetall Defence, The Engineer - Mission Equipmentreports through to our Technical Manager ES.
The Electronics Solutions team is part of the global integrated team who work closely together to manage the program execution of the LAND 400 Phase 2 Contract with the Commonwealth of Australia, and assist with the capture of export markets in the Asia Pacific region.
The Electronics Solutions team will expand as RDA continues to grow. This role is based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Ipswich.
About the Role
The Engineer - Mission Equipment will have the unique opportunity to work on state of the art electronics equipment on next generation Defence capabilities. The Engineer - Mission Equipment will work closely with the Technical Manager - Mission Equipment, engineering, production and service staff, suppliers, configuration management and project management to facilities the production and servicing of the electronic Mission Systems from Electronic Solutions.

The Engineer - Mission Equipment will work closely with the Technical Manager - Mission Equipment, engineering, production and service staff, suppliers, configuration management and project management to facilities the production and servicing of the electronic Mission Systems from Electronic Solutions.
The general and generic duties of the Engineer - Mission Equipment include, but are not limited to:
- Develop engineering documentation for the production and sustainment of mission equipment;
- Develop engineering documentation for the production and sustainment of test systems;
- Develop repair procedures for mission equipment;
- Support the introduction of engineering changes to mission equipment and test systems;
- Performing other duties as required by the Technical Manager - Mission Equipment;
- Respond to technical questions raised by suppliers; and
- Provide recommendations to procurement for provision of technical items.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics or a similar discipline;
- Strong understanding of Hardware and Software interfaces and integration;
- Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance and/or motivation;
- Experience with PDM software or similar;
- Knowledge and experience of Defence Contracts or on a similar scale;
- Experience working in the Automotive Industry desirable; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
