Position Summary:

Provide technical support and lead the Engineering projects for medical device products, processing methods and technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning all processes related to designing, developing, and implementing automated systems to enhance manufacturing processes and improve operational efficiency. This role requires prior experience with Process Engineering and Project Management. Understanding of molding and automation technology is a plug. This position will lead the management of Engineering projects within the organization and will also mentor other Engineers from a Project Management perspective.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Process Engineering - Managed the design and development of new and existing automation systems to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Project Management - lead large capital projects in the Engineering teams and mentor others.
  • Support Automation Engineers with integrating automation systems with existing manufacturing hardware and equipment.
  • Support Molding Engineers with specifying equipment and molds to support business expansion.
  • Write and update process related documentation and provide user training for manufacturing staff.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead Kaizen activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and regulatory compliance to author required validation protocol documentation URS/FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Research, develop and lead the implementation of advanced technologies and automation across the entire value stream.
  • Closely interface with production support and maintenance departments on preventative maintenance programs.
  • Generate and assist in the development of engineering plans and the designs required for cost reduction, process, and equipment improvements (User Requirement Specification (URS) and Functional Requirement Specification (FRS).
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education / Certifications
  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Manufacturing, Industrial and/or Plastics, Systems, Packaging) is required
  • Prior Project Management experience is required
  • Prior Process Engineering experience is required
  • Experience in injection molding is a plus


Knowledge/Experience
  • 2+ years of Project Management and Process Engineering experience is required.
  • Willingness and proven track record of leading new improvements that support manufacturing.
  • Application of project management principles (scope and budget development, stakeholder communication plans, stage gate reviews and task tracking against timeline)
  • Knowledge of Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), root causes assessments (6 M's Fishbone) and designed engineering studies (DOE).
  • Good Practice Guidelines (GxP) and medical device manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Events is highly preferred.

Skills
  • Project Management, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to lead projects and to clearly communicate status, technical data, subsequent actions, and timelines to team members and senior management.
  • Team-based collaborative abilities to interface cross-functionally production, planning, quality and engineering opportunities for improvement.

The pay range for this position of Process Engineer is $70,613- $105,920. However, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus as part of total compensation.
