Role summary:
This person will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for overseeing the administration and management of internal and external programs of varying scope and scale, ensuring successful completion within defined specifications and timelines. In this role, you will be joining a world-class Engineering team that delivers innovative solutions to tough problems.
Project Management & Engineering Coordination
Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for multiple concurrent projects, managing scope, budget, schedule, and resources from initiation to closeout.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, outlining equipment and material needs, timelines, and budgets.
Communicate project plans and progress updates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure teams meet their targets.
Support internal stakeholders in developing and improving systems and processes.
Assist the Director of Engineering with project/program administration, process development, procedure creation, and guide documentation.
Procurement & Vendor Management
Manage procurement activities, including:
o Developing procurement plans.
o Issuing and evaluating Request for Quotes (RFQs).
o Overseeing commercial and technical bid evaluations.
o Processing purchase requisitions and expediting deliveries.
Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with government agency flow-down requirements and reporting obligations.
Government Funding & Compliance
Research and identify potential funding opportunities for projects.
Develop and submit funding applications, including:
o Gathering necessary execution plans, cost and labor estimates, project schedules, and risk registers.
o Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to compile required documentation.
o Providing timely updates to relevant parties on funding applications.
Manage compliance with federal program requirements, including:
o Preparing reports and reimbursement requests.
o Ensuring proper documentation and adherence to agency guidelines.
Manufacturing Process Oversight
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the entire manufacturing process to identify and manage interdependencies, proactively alerting management to potential issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
And any other duties as assigned
You are:
A graduate with a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific degree, along with 5-10 years of relevant technical experience
Experienced with capital project management lifecycle and best practices
A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
Well organized and invested in the details
Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
Consultative and engaging, able to influence senior leaders
A critical thinker able to manage complex information
