Job Summary: The Engineering & Drafting Support Manager leads a dedicated support team responsible for standard detail development, tool maintenance, and certification workflows. This role ensures alignment between production, drafting, and engineering teams by establishing clear processes, setting priorities, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing support team (including technicians).
Provide clear direction, set performance goals, and conduct regular performance reviews.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for drafting support, tool development, and certification processes.
Track and manage incoming requests, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of support services.
Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and production leaders to identify and prioritize support needs.
Facilitate regular check-ins, gather feedback, and adjust team priorities accordingly.
Implement best practices in standard detail creation, CAD tool usage, and process automation.
Analyze metrics (turnaround times, error rates, satisfaction scores) to drive process improvements.
Determine resource requirements, manage the team's budget, and justify expenditures for software licenses, tools, and training.
Oversee vendor relationships as needed for specialized software or external certifications.

Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years in an engineering, drafting, or technical support environment, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proficient with AutoCAD, Tekla, and MBS, and familiarity with document control systems.
Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. Must be capable of leading cross-functional teams.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to interact with cross-functional teams.

Strategic thinking and the ability to plan long-term improvements.
Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
