Principal Test Engineering Technician
The Principal Test Engineering Technician assists Test Engineers in the development of complex printed circuit board in-circuit test fixtures, as well as box and PC-based functional test equipment for electro-mechanical, hydro-pneumatic, optical sub-assemblies and systems. Frequently working independently, the incumbent fabricates, duplicates, documents, updates, repairs and certifies new and existing production test equipment; provides design for manufacturability and design for test input on products and test equipment designs; and ensures that test fixtures and equipment are in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Essential Behaviors and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Responsible for hands on maintenance, repair, calibration, and validation of new and existing test equipment - Responds to production line test equipment issues affecting output, yield, or end product quality - Identifies and provides enhancements to test equipment to support existing or new manufacturing operations - Under minimum supervision, will initiate or implement changes to existing test equipment to support improvements in cost, methods, quality, or to address material support/obsolescence issues. This includes test and validation activity and updating equipment documentation. Education Requirement: Want at least an associates degree in electrical engineering or equivalent Would like to see someone with some light mechanical construction experience or background. Experience debugging and troubleshooting electronics Experience constructing equipment, debugging and following technical procedures.
